At Lebades AMKE, our philosophy is woven from the threads of heritage, sustainability, and community. We believe that every textile carries a story—of the land it came from, the hands that crafted it, and the cultures it connects. By honoring ancient techniques while embracing eco-conscious practices, we forge a living bridge between past and future. From sourcing local fibers and vegetable dyes to upcycling forgotten scraps into vibrant new yarns, our commitment is to nurture both people and planet with intentional, respectful craftsmanship.
We only use natural materials such as cotton, wool, linen, silk or a combination of these. We create, on a limited scale, the woolen yarn ourselves, taking wool from shepherds of Lesvos and doing the whole process of transformation into thread.
In some cases, the woolen thread is dyed with vegetable dyes from roots, fruits, flowers or leaves of Lesvos plants.

At Lebades, upcycling holds a special place in our philosophy. We reclaim discarded fabrics, leftover threads, and vintage scraps—carefully sorting, cleaning, and re-spinning them into fresh, high-quality yarns. By transforming these materials into new weavings, we not only celebrate the history woven into every fiber but also dramatically reduce textile waste. Each upcycled piece carries a story: from forgotten fragments to renewed craftsmanship, extending the life of resources and nurturing a truly circular textile economy.
